Holiday Swap, The “Tinder For Travel” App Has Hired Tinder’s Former Head Of Communications To Grow The Brand
Downloaded over 500,000 times, Holiday Swap is the revolutionary travel app enabling you to travel the world without the cost of travel.
Just like Tinder, users can swipe on homes when deciding on a suitable place to stay.
Founder James Asquith was the youngest person to travel to all 196 countries at the age of 24 – and now he’s hired Tinder’s former Head Of Communications to grow the brand.
Mr Asquith said: “Our users love the ease of the swiping mechanism for looking for potential matches of places to stay. We are now excited to make a great addition to our team in Hermione who has experience working at Tinder, the first company to bring the swiping mechanism to market.
In an attempt to reduce the expenses of travel, the app allows users to essentially eliminate the cost of accommodation while on vacation.
If both users like the look of each other’s homes, then they can swap their house, room and more for just $1 per night per bed.
Once matched, users are notified and can set up a chat to discuss availability, and a ‘pin’ is also added to their map.
Founder James Asquith said: “You have a picture of a property and you swipe.”
“A lot of people who’ve used it said, ‘I feel like I’m on Tinder.”
But unlike Tinder, Holiday Swap works on a global, not local scale, with the app currently covering more than 40 countries across six continents.
“The millennial generation is the future and this generation wants more with less,” he added.
“With the growth of technology we are building a true global sharing community, where we can actually use the assets we have to explore more of the world.”
